Repair Café

‘We repair things, God repairs people.’

Hathersage Repair Café is an initiative offered by St Michael & All Angels Parish Church and Hathersage Methodist Church for the local community three times a year at the Methodist Hall.

A number of ‘experts’ provide advice, simple repairs and refurbishment on a range of items such as furniture, electrical goods, clothing, sharpening of knives and articles for cleaning.  Advice is available on computers, smart phones, plants and much more, all of which is freely available.

Even if you don’t have an item for repair, you are very welcome to come along to watch the repairers at work and catch up with friends over a cup of tea or coffee, and maybe even a bacon or sausage buttie.

Our maxim is ‘We repair things, God repairs people’, and so we offer a prayer corner with a prayer tree, and if requested, the opportunity for someone to pray with you.

Blokes Breakfast

Blokes Breakfast meets most months (Saturday) in the Bell Room which is situated across the churchyard from the parish church at 10am. A full English breakfast is served with all the trimmings (including black pudding!)  copious amounts of tea, filter coffee and toast.

It’s a great opportunity for men to gather, chat and enjoy a one another’s company. We usually have a speaker who shares how Jesus is or has helped in their working life, with questions and discussion to follow.

All blokes are most welcome to come along.

Ladies' Lunch

‘Ladies Lunch’ meets in the Bell Room on the 2nd Wednesday of each month to share fellowship, experiences and thoughts around a theme or bible verse, with visits to nearby churches, charities and exhibitions enjoyed by all.

Warm Space

From January to the end of March we offer Warm Space each Wednesday, 11am to 3pm. Hot drinks, homemade soup and cakes are served and games and music are offered, contributing to social interaction, warmth and friendship after the busyness of Christmas, when some of our guests feel isolated due to cold weather and short days. Lifts are available for local residents.

We meet in the Bell Room which is across the churchyard from the church, so do pop in as we assure you of a very ‘Warm Space, Warm Company, Warm Welcome!’
